Being greeted by familiar faces of the head manager Ruben Schrijver, chef Alessandro and several other staff members made us feel right at home, and we quickly fell back into our routine: breakfast at the Pool House, gym, mid day nap, afternoons by the pool (with a coconut to keep cool), sunsets at the Club and nights back at the pool, listening to one of the most soothing DJ’s ever and enjoying one of their eclectic nightly buffets.
We added one unforgettable touch to our time at the Hyatt Regency Phuket: the Nahm Spa. We opted for their signature couple treatment, and were escorted to an epic room with a view over the entire Andaman Sea. The ambient music, temperature and heavenly smell of essential oils were the ultimate tranquility. And from this video, I think you can get an idea…
Admittedly, it’s hard to get a bad massage in Thailand, but one remembers world class when they experience it. From the welcome greeting to the custom attention they put into each treatment, from the selection of oils to getting escorted there on a personal buggy, the experience was bar none.
Our week long stay ended too soon. It felt like there was still so much left to do on in Phuket. We haven’t taken any of the daily trips nor visited any of the towns… In fact, like we did last year, we hardly left the property, and when we did we strolled around the quiet nature surrounding Kamala Cove. Oh well, just one more reason to come back next year.
