You know how it is, we Italians love our tomato sauce ? Tomatoes, especially when it comes to cooking Italian food, are a true staple. Pizza Margherita and Pasta Bolognese are not the same when made without marinara sauce.
One of my first choices when it comes to eating out is always to enjoy some healthy Indian food – and in my mind this meal cannot start without a healthy dhal, an earthy, gluten free lentil soup that I am in love with.

I don’t think there’s something I love more than “pastafrolla” (Italian for shortbread). Maybe because it’s the treat of my childhood, the main ingredient of my favorite pie, crostata, or maybe because it’s actually the best thing ever… but this friable and crunchy pastry dough is truly amazing.
I was strolling around the streets of Bologna, one of the most historic and beautiful towns of Italy, with my partner in crime / travel buddy / soulmate aka my husband… and I made one of the most exciting discoveries: Italian grain free pasta that only consists of ONE ingredient!

Foodwise Tuscany is one of the best regions in Italy. From amazing “Schiacciata” (a flatbread drizzled with olive oil and sea salt crystals) to “Caciucco” (tomato & fish soup); from “Cantucci” (which I remade gluten free for you) and “Brigidini” (anise flavored sweet chips) to their delicious stews and infamous the “Pici” (thick, homemade spaghetti).
